The Jarvis Mine: dead dog

Ok. I'm not getting much traction here. I've been trying to get the word out. I've tried calling people like forest rangers, the BLM, the sheriff's office in the local town, and nothing. People think I'm crazy. But crap man, what does a guy have to do to get your attention. I'm not doing this for me. I’m doing it for you guys out there. My dog is gone. Nothing is bringing Millie back. I accept that. But, holy shit man. I almost didn't make it out alive myself. If anybody else goes back in there, I'm not responsible. At least I've done everything I can. Don't blame me. But, if there is anybody out there who is interested in the details, just email me or call me. I'll be happy to unload it all.

For now, here are some pictures of Millie, a sort of tribute to her. She was an awesome dog and we had some good adventures together. She was only 5 years old.

This MINE Killed My Dog- Read First

I stumbled across this old abandoned mine when me and my lab "Millie" were exploring the back country about a week ago. It was at the end of a long day for both of us hiking up rock canyons - probably a good 10 miles of rugged terrain. It was nice and cool in the mouth of the mine so we decided to go in about 30 feet and escape the heat for a while and eat a snack before setting up camp for the night. I didn't bring in all the gear, cuz I wasn't planning on staying inside very long. It was kind of creepy.

As I was pulling out some food and kickin back, Millie started getting nervous. She kept looking down into the tunnel like something was there. Then all of a sudden she just stood up like she was being called by somebody or some thing. She looked back at me for a second and then just turned and started walking into the darkness. I was totally blown away. She never walks away from me like that. I called her, but she just kept walking.... straight into the blackness. So, I grabbed my flashlight and got to my feet and started after her. By that time she had started to run. I was able to barely shine the light on her as she pulled away running deeper into the mine. Then, she was gone - that fast. I was running after her and had her in my light, but then suddenly she was gone. I listened. I whistled. But nothing. I was totally freaked out. I tried to remain calm but I was about ready to piss my pants. So now I'm thinking, is this the last time I'm going to see her? Cuz, I'm not going deeper in the mine - not after what happened to those guys on the news a little while ago. And I’m thinking what on earth would make a dog run into total blackness – into an old mine tunnel. It was freaking me out. Luckily, I was video taping when all this happened or I wouldn’t have believed it.

But it’s what happened after that is the reason I started this blog. I don't know if it is the best way to tell the world. But for everybody out there who might be thinking about going to this mine. DON'T DO IT. STAY AWAY! THERE IS SOMETHING EVIL ABOUT IT. I NEVER SAW MY DOG MILLIE ALIVE AGAIN. I'm not going into the details here because I found out the hard way that people don't want to believe things that they're scared of or if they can't explain it.

But here’s what happened after she disappeared the first time. I finally got the nerve to go deeper into the mine when I heard her barking. I followed the sound until I caught up with her. But she pulled away and kept going in deeper. So for some reason I decided to trust her and just followed along. But, it was only about another 30 yards around a corner and over a big rock pile that she took off and literally disappeared right before my eyes as she ran up to a big rail cart switching station or something. When I got to that point, she was gone, nowhere again. I had her in my light one second and the next second she was gone. Then suddenly, I heard her barking like about 20 yards in back of me. But how did she get there? It was impossible. So I took off in the direction of the barking again.

I followed the tunnel around a few twists and turns. I could hear her breathing and panting in the distance. I knew I was getting close but she wasn’t acting herself. Then I heard her like she was really scared and then a pathetic yelp. When I found her it wasn't pretty. There was a lot of blood. And at the same time I heard some things and felt a presence of something that wasn't human. I was totally... and I mean totally freaked out and raced out of there so fast I left my backpack and crap behind.

It was an insane hike back to my truck in the dark. It took all night but I wasn't stopping. I pulled into a nearby town about 50 miles down the road. I tried to get info from some locals but the people acted all weird when I asked about it, finally I found out they call it the "Jarvis Mine" but wouldn't tell me more, I don't get it?? I've never believed in ghosts and shit but that mine is haunted man. If anyone (esp if you live in the area in CO) has any info about it please go to my youtube channel.
